Jacob Gurevitsch - guitar, Bastian Sjelberg - bass, Kristoffer Sjelberg - percussion
Jacob Gurevitsch is a colorful and well-loved artist in the world of guitar music, whose recordings are among the most streamed performances of guitarists, reaching more than three million mark on digital platforms every month. Gurevitsch's guitar playing is saturated with cross-cultural references, united by a common denominator – passion. Gurevitsch's apparently carefree music-making style will also offer visitors of our festival to indulge in relaxing imagination and a sense of romance.
“For those of us who link flamenco with block heels, vibrant ruffled dresses, dramatic dance moves and a rather monotonous soundscape, Gurevitsch sidesteps the clichés.” – Tolita’s Musings
Raimonds Pauls - piano, Toms Poišs - bass, Māris Briežkalns - drums
Sinfonietta Rīga conductor Normunds Šnē
A new program by Maestro Raimonds Paul is always an event in Latvia. Also in the world of jazz, because Pauls himself does not hide that this genre is his great passion. This summer, the festival will host the premiere of the symphonic jazz program Songs Without Words, with the participation chamber orchestra Sinfonietta Rīga under the leadership of conductor Normunds Šnē. The compositions of the new program are fresh arrangements created by the British composer Callum Au of well-known Raimonds Paul’s melodies.
This will definitely be one of this year's biggest events, not only at the festival, but in the entire life of Latvian music!
“In the world of jazz, a musician is made unique by a nuance, small, unique to this artist. A detail that sets him apart from thousands of others and offers possibilities for multiple interpretations. Cradled. THAT touch.” – DELFI
